Men's Bomber MA-1 Flight Pilot Jacket Dark Black
MA-1 Flight Pilot Jacket (Dark Black)
Our unisex MA-1 has designed as an intermediate weight flight jacket for use all year. This is accomplished by manufacturing the jacket from very high quality flight nylon fabrics and polyester interlinings.
The lightweight Military Spec Nylon design allows the pilots and aircrew to wear the jacket open and be comfortable in warm weather. Upon entering the aircraft, the pilot can zip the jacket closed and be afforded ample protection against the cold conditions encountered in flight and offer the best protection and comfort than any other flight jacket.
This jacket is water/weather resistant and includes a knit collar, cuffs and waistband, as well as a heavy gauge brass zipper with storm flap for warmth. The jacket is reversible to survival fluorescent bright orange, making them ideal for rescue missions and other times when visibility is imperative.
In the 1970s this MA-1 jacket was used by U.S. Army helicopter pilots and aircrew in the Vietnam War and is known as the “Nylon Pilot’s Jacket”. This pilot jacket was the first military flight jacket to cross over into civilian fashion.
Our MA-1 is not only a pilot jacket, but also a canvas for your imagination, offering endless possibilities to you, the wearer, the pilot. A true classic, the MA-1 is made to last over time. Its flight nylon shell is both flexible yet robust, while its iconic survival fluorescent orange lining provides the comfort and warmth and weather- and stretch-resistance. Whatever you’re planning to do with it, it’s ready to fly.
The design of this flight jacket conveys positive image of strength, power and quality. But please, don’t get overexcited and try to fly an F-35. Okay? Thanks.

This MA-1 jacket is simply amazing, the nylon feels silky, the collar is made of one of the best knit I’ve ever seen; it’s also well insulated. The jacket appears tough and has a massive zipper. The size chart is a bit off, this jacket fits way bigger than they say on the regular chart, be sure to always ask for your size, the guys of Lessy Aviator’s stuff got mine perfectly. Lessy Aviator MA-1 Black versus Alpha Industries MA-1 Black Regular cut (2017 Original):
Sizes are about the same.
If you wear a “XL”, the Lessy Aviator size would be a Large, through the Medium is perfect but runs a little short when driving. The neck/wrists parts + nylon outshell are of better quality than the Alpha Industries. Cockpit ones: are softer, black is not as black and doesn’t look like 25% plastic (great), More luxurious pure jet black, Arm size are bigger near the shoulders making it less dull, Black zippers + quick access pockets making them look very mean and authoritative in what you are doing, might be 1/2 inch less longer than the Alphas Industries, nylon outshell doesn’t fold like the ‘alphas that tends to ply a bit’ (great). It’s basically If I asked a pro to make me a custom bomber for myself only. A rare product that beats the Original. Price wise, It’s Fair, but rising it up again won’t be good. (Moscow – Russian)

Thank you for your positive feedback and your detailed comparison with the Alpha Industries pilot jacket. Enjoy the jacket.

The Cockpit rendition of the venerable MA-1 Alpha Industries flight jacket is as high in quality as it is in comfort and value. It’s extremely well made for the price, and I’m looking forward to wearing it on cross-country flights. Hope I’ll never need it, but the international orange (aerospace) inner shell improves visibility to rescue personnel when the jacket is reversed. (Athens, Greece)
